MAD BMW 535 Intercooler & Charge Pipe Now Available **NEW PRODUCTS**
Upgrade from your stock intercooler to the MAD stepped core intercooler for maximum performance and reliability! The stock BMW intercooler is small, inefficient, and cannot keep up with the high boost that your tuned car targets. MAD BMW intercooler will keep the intake air temperature in check, allowing your BMW to perform at its best at all times. The MAD F chassis BMW intercooler uses a high fin density core for maximum cooling. This intercooler is compatible with stock and aftermarket charge pipes. Features: Direct stock replacement, no cutting required High-quality stepped core Lifetime warranty on defects and fitment 90 day return period All orders ship in 1-2 business days Spot on fitment Fits rear-wheel-drive & X-drive models Fitment: 2009-2016 535 2009-2016 640 2007-2012 740 SKU: MAD-025 Upgrade from the stock BMW N55 charge pipe to the MAD N55 charge pipe for maximum airflow and reliability! The stock BMW N55 charge pipe is plastic and prone to failure. It's only a matter of time before the charge pipe to break. The MAD N55 charge pipe is a strong aluminum piece; it will provide better airflow and won't fail, and fits like stock. The MAD charge pipe retains the BMW C-clip and O-ring for the best fitment. Do not forget to move them from the stock charge pipe to the MAD option. The MAD charge pipe comes with two meth bungs; both bungs are sealed. If you do not intend to use methanol injection, keep them closed. Features: Better airflow More robust material (aluminum vs. plastic) Two meth bungs Lifetime warranty on defects and fitment 90 day return period All orders ship in 1-2 business days Spot on fitment Fitment: 2011-2017 535 2011-2017 640 2011-2017 740 2010-2018 X5 & X6 w/ N55 engine SKU: MAD-024

Isn't the MAD intercooler just a wagner clone? Exact same exterior design, at least.

Have to see the side profile... but I think Unspec is right since it is promising factory fitment then it must be Wagner replica. VrSF is b to get in lol.

I think every 535 intercooler on the market is using Wagner as the base. Im not surprised they look similar

Heh yea it was interesting to see. I imagine they're sourcing the actual core from different places. At least based on the photos for the MAD (do you take these or do the manufacture supply them?), the core doesn't look as nice as the Wagner.

In my personal opinion, no 535 intercooler compares to Wagner in terms of finish quality Please note, the pictures you posted of the Wagner and G-plus are professionally edited. The MAD ones are iPhone pictures. For a fair comparison, we'll need to either compare the different coolers in person or get an unedited picture of the other brands.

For 400ish bucks, it's definitely a good deal. Still prefer my g-plus though

We've just received an in-depth review of the MAD 535 intercooler from one of our customers, and I thought you might be interested in taking a look.
He gave the MAD intercooler a 5 star rating The short review is this fits the 2014 F10 535i M-Sport (LCI) and makes a huge difference, and I recommend it to anyone with an F10, with the caveat that it is a VERY tight fit and I would not attempt to do it on your back (e.g using a jack / jack stands) or alone, but it will go in (I removed my cooling fan / brace so I could get it around my aftermarket solid aluminum charge and boost pipe inlets.) and the provided brackets bolt it right in to the factory bolt holes! If you want more details, then PLEASE read on. I was actually mad at first that I had to get the MAD, since I originally ordered the BMS Race Cooler, (106% Larger (More than double the size) over the stock Inter-Cooler) only to find out that they had discontinued theirs for the F10 (535's) and were no longer available, leaving you with the choice of the MAD or the ridiculously priced Wagner. (I Don't recommend you get the Masata [Not to be confused with Mishimoto or MST] unless you know someone who can make & weld custom brackets to mount it and also deal with even more headaches getting it in.) After replacing the Factory (Meyle HD) with the MAD the 1st thing I noticed is that you can actually hear the Turbo spooling now (Not loud or noisy but you can actually hear it.) since it has a lot more volume space to fill, whereas before you could only rarely hear it. The MAD is 96% Larger (Almost double the volume) than the stock one with larger plenum's (Side Tanks) and frontal surface cooling area which makes a HUGE difference on the Intake Air Temperatures (hereafter referenced as IAT's). On the Stock Inter-cooler after (5) 2nd to 5th gear pulls in 80' F weather (I am in Florida) with my starting IAT Temp of 98' Fahrenheit (F) the IAT's could hit as high as 152' F by the end of the 5th pull. After Installing the MAD and running the same 5 pulls in the same Temp & weather the highest Temp I saw was a single 85' F at the very end of the 5th pull in the logging, it actually kept the IAT's at 82' F across the board (Yes, you read the correctly, only 2 degrees warmer than the Ambient Air Temp (AAT) ) other than that one anomaly. NOTE: It rained shortly after the pulls and I now know why the actual "M" 2/3/4/5/6/ series cars have added Water to Air cooling to those vehicles, (With a separate coolant reservoir) since just the little amount of water that made it through the grills on the front of the car to the fins on the Inter-cooler as the air passed over them at 65-70 MPH dropped the IAT's to 70' F (Another 10' colder than the AAT) which will allow even more flow & power delivery. So if you are familiar with Thermo Dynamics, just the 70' Difference in the IAT's makes this worth while since it essentially "made" 22.5 HP more just by keeping the IAT's down to 82' F. You may be thinking "Big Whoop" but the efficiency of your boost (How hard the Turbo has to work to deliver the targeted boost Pressure) and the Air Temps make a huge difference in consistency on your track times (I run on a 1.8 Mile GT Style Road Course) and how hot the motor / turbo / oil / water will get and/or can be regulated over time. Based on what I have seen so far, this Inter-cooler should be able to flow 650 HP efficiently and could even handle "Peak" (short bursts of high boost) as high as 800 HP of Flow if you are willing to go back to IAT's over 140' F again. (Not recommended, but possible.) What amazes me is that X-PH and MAD only talk about the HP potential of this Inter-Cooler, when they should definitely be mentioning the virtues of the efficiency this provides. My track car is also my "Daily Driver" (Since I am in the "Stock" Class) and I take the same route and run nearly the same speeds every day. For 2+ Years now I am used to the "Distance Till Empty" (DTE) showing me between 433 & 448 Miles DTE each time I fill up. Since the MAD install that has gone WAY up, so I want to make sure I mention this for everyone. I am on my 3rd Tank of fuel and I went 504 miles before I refilled this last time and the DTE showed 548 DTE when I started up!! That is a MASSIVE gain of 100 Miles per tank or 6.25 MPG in my daily driving simply by getting more efficient and cooler air flow and delivery! So in as little as 26 Tanks of fuel, (Based on 93 Octane at $3.75/gal) this upgrade will have paid for itself and I get all the benefits of it the whole time, and, start saving money the whole time after that! Now you know why I recommend getting this for your F10 and I hope you enjoy similar experiences!
