BMW 535/550 Blacked Out Emblem
Decided to finally black out my 535 emblem, looking on eBay for a blacked out emblem, I came across a set that is the new G30 style emblem. Obviously I won't be using the M logo, but the 535i seems much cleaner vs the F10 style. In case anyone is interested, search for new Bmw 535i style emblem. I'll post some pics when I get it installed.

I personally didn't do it because I didn't care enough but after looking into it I thought it was not an issue. Even less of an issue when you have mods. Just my 2 cents. |

IMO if it didn't have an ///M badge there in the first place I don't really see why you should put one there. The only people that will really notice are the people who know it doesn't belong there in the first place

Wow that was quick, the emblem arrived today. Even has original bmw part number sticker on it, lol. Very doubtful it’s genuine however looks amazing. Can’t wait to put it on.
Trying to decide if it should put it on the same spot or move it to where g30’s has the emblem. I’ll post some pics after I get it installed |

Interesting respond. Not liking the blacked out emblem?
I haven’t had a chance to put it on yet, it is noticeably smaller in size, so I’m thinking I will be putting it on the top right of the trunk instead. Seems to flow better. However haven’t a had a chance to remove the old one yet, hoping to do it this weekend. It looks oem so not sure why such hatred of the emblem. |

I don’t think members you reference who replied to this thread hate the emblem, I think they do not like the idea of you putting on an M badge on a non M vehicle. Essentially, you are making your vehicle appear to be something it is not. I am enough of a fan of using original parts that I installed the factory BMW 550i emblem on the right rear edge of my trunk that the previous owner had removed.
This said, it is your vehicle, and you should do what you want with it. Quote:

I believe there’s some confusion, I bought the emblem for the blacked out “535i”, was not planning on putting the M. However you are correct, I wouldn’t care if someone was to put on a m badge as it’s their vehicle and they can do what they want. However for me, I was never a fan putting an M badge on a none M.

I just debadged my trunk lid and applied a blacked-out "550i" that I got on Amazon.
Somehow I got the "i" upside down, so it looks more like an exclamation point! First World problems, man. |
