F10 535i Muffler Delete Sound Clip

Hey all,

After months of debating on whether or not I should do this modification, I finally pulled the trigger. Made a few phone calls around town on who could do it for the best price, and went in that same day and had them chop off the mufflers.

To summarize, the muffler was deleted and replaced with a straight pipe, with the original tips welded onto them. The car is noticeably louder now, but in a good way. Drone is minimal, it is really not bad as you would think. Since the resonators and cats are still intact, it definitely is bearable. It also gets awesomely loud when using generous throttle. I hear a few pops and blips when the car engine breaks, but I am unsure if that can be heard from outside. What i really enjoy is the kind of "fart" noise it makes when the car shifts, which is extremely subjective but it sounds really good to me.

As far as power goes, there is definitely no significant power gain, or at least none that my butt dyno can perceive.

Overall, really happy with this "cheap" mod -- I've linked a youtube video that I posted.

It sounds really nice. How much did it cost you? Do you have any clips of regular city driving?

I did on my old 535i. It cost me like $150 from the shop (another $100 for burnt tips). Very cost effective mod

Here is a video of regular driving

$150 with the original tips.

I plan on getting some recordings with a gopro over the exhaust to get better sound.

I have the non m-sport bumper so I would have had to do a lot of extra work to get quad tips... and I just bought a new camera and a drone so my wallet is pretty empty aha!

I hear ya! There's a post here just recently and he installed a Remus exhaust and he has a picture of cutting the bumper to accommodate the quad tips. Turned out pretty sweet

Hi

So I also have a F10 535i m sport that consider doing muffler delete. Of course, the number one concern for me is the drone. Did you manage to record the interior sound clip cause I am very curious to hear.

There is some drove around 1.8k rpms that is noticeable. There is a lot some "drone" when you cold start. Its much louder than stock but after the engine warms up, its all good.

Cold starts are pretty fukin loud. Once warm, it's pretty tame

A little bit of drone but the pops n burbles and gear changes are worth

I cut my bumper to fit 3" quads. Basically taped up the curve of factory cutout and mirrored it to opposite side using tips as a guide to know how much to take off.
