Sorry if the question has already been asked but I've been looking to see if someone has retrofitted a 6wb to an early F10 and I'm having a hard time finding the advice. Any input is appreciated!

I have a 2011 535i xDrive, pretty basic car. Production date 2010-09-13

No sport package or anything, so no drive mode selector, no paddles etc.
VIN is WBAFU7C51BC771466

I'd like to do a 6wb to update the look of the car. TIA for any input!

Don't see why it wouldn't work on a base 2011. If you need recommendation for someone to clear the mileage on the cluster and code let me know

You can quickly use one of the online part database sites to see the list of 6WB instrument clusters that will work for you car based on its VIN (if you use your VIN to look up the instrument cluster diagrams).

If you're not familiar with any of the online part database sites...you can use any of my 3 favs below:

2. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select
3. http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/

BTW, which instrument cluster do you have now...the basic one or the 6WA (part analog/part digital)?

Keep an eye on this guy as he's got a instrument cluster on the way and hopefully he'll make a video in the install

Not something you want to attempt on your own, let the masters do the clearing and coding. Swapping the cluster physically is very easy though. I went from the horrible basic to 6WA and had it remotely coded.

Yep...if there are multiple part nbrs...they will be listed...which could be due to different options or other reasons. So checking those site can help in getting the correct part. Sometimes the part nbrs are listed directly below each other and if not...if you click on the 11 digit part nbr...you'll get a list of superseded nbrs that will show if they are retroactively exchangeable or not exchangeable as well as other BMW models that you also uses the same part.

Awesome thank you so much for the help! Do you happen to know what other chassis codes the 6wb is interchangeable with? There's lots for sale for f30 and the other f chassis SUVs

Hey wassup JDM ...interesting you posted asking about an 6wb cluster. I literally installed mine last week. The cluster is sweet. Definately a big improvement to the car. If you remember I was going to convert my car to the msport look. The video posted in this thread is from Grant Johnson....really good guy that has been doing his upgrades himself.

I would be careful on LKQ, mine came busted. And others have said wrong ones showed up. Keep a eye out on eBay.

I haven't bought one yet but the cheapest I'm seeing them for is $650 I think for a G chassis one. I found an F10 one for $900 gonna see if I can neg. I want a 6wb but not $900 bad 😂

No but oddly enough G chassis clusters seem to be cheaper than the F chassis ones.

Using realoem with my particular build date these are the ones I've found that will fit:

Found some 6wa's for like $300 but the 6wb's are up in the $800-1000
