hello forum members. can anyone confirm or maybe look under your car and tell me if this is an exhaust hanger/bracket as mine has the rubber bushing with a bolt in it but no hanger? i wanna say when BMW took my car in a couple of years ago for a recall they had to drop my exhaust down to get to whatever they had to replace and i suspect the tech forgot to put one of the hangers or bracket back on? this would be for the 535i guys. i noticed it when i installed my VRSF dp. appreciate anyone that can maybe take a look under their car but it would be if your facing the front of the car, it would be on the right side (driver's side) where the exhaust splits into two just where the 90 degree bend is as you can see from the pictures i posted. i circled the exhaust bushing. it's actually attached to the exhaust

Where is that spot located? Towards your front near where you did the downpipe? I'm headed home in a bit, and can see if I can crawl up under there real quick

it's after the downpipe than it splits into two pipes and bends a 90 degree. you can see from the 90 degree bend where i circled in yellow. it a rubber bushing with a bolt in it and i'm assuming there's should've been a bracket that ties into it? appreciate you checking

That type of structure exists in a couple of places, including on the back of each stock 535i muffler.

I believe it is a vibration damper or something like that. Most of the hangers I've seen are metal pins that go through a rubber coupler - nothing with bolts.

More people chiming in might be helpful, but despite looking like it should bolt to something there's a decent chance you're all good.

yeah, Burrninja was able to find out that it's like a vibration absorber/damper. there's a total of 3 of them on the exhaust system when he checked on realoem. to me it looked like an exhaust hanger lol. good thing or else i would have been at BMW telling them they forgot to put a bracket back on only for them to show me it's not lol!

you can use any nut to replace it with. just get the right size and thread
