F11 trunk not opening

Went out to the f11 this morning opened the trunk and closed it with no issues. Went back 5 mins later now the trunk won't open at all. Tried the handle on the trunk, the key fob and the button near to the drivers footwell. I can still hear what sounds like the switch clicking when attempting to open the trunk however the trunk won't budge. Has anyone had this issue and solved it.

Did you happen to hit the valet switch in between the time you initially opened/closed it?

My car doesn't have the valet switch. I did however go and double check.

After a few Google searches it has pointed me to a possible faulty trunk handle. I removed the handle last night it does appear to be in working order, however I am going to replace it as is not expensive to buy and it's a 5min job to change.
