Debadging

I'm thinking about debadging my F10 535. Why should I do it and why not?

TIA

Do it because you want to. Not everyone likes the debadged look, some love it. Some just don't like the chrome and swap it out for black or paint/wrap it. It's one of those true "personal preference" things.

Ive been going back and forth myself on whether or not to debadged my 535. I think once I get my spoiler painted, I'll debadge the car to keep the rear "clean"

I was also thinking about blacking them out but might eventually go with debadging since I plan to add a CF spoiler and it might look better that way.

Thank you for your input!

I debadged. I found that the sharp corners of the badging would often catch my wash mitts, and given how frequently I wash my car it got real annoying real fast.

I wanted to but decided against it so not to come across as an M5 wannabe. Mine already has M5 wheels, spoiler, rear diffuser and quad exhaust outlets. What I would love though is to get the 550i letters black-chromed, which would come across more gunmetal.

I did remove the xDrive badge. Never understood the logic of advertising features through badges (xDrive, 4Matic, Quattro, etc.)

At the end of the day, do what you feel like doing. It's your car.

My other reason exactly! I also wash my car quite often and run into the same annoyance

Yup, and it's always a bitch to clean the negative spaces in the lettering. It's not like a lot of other brands (or like the xDrive badge) where it's one solid badge, but instead actual individual letters. Pretty annoying to clean.

Someone once asked me "but what if someone thinks it's a 528!" and I just shrugged. IDGAF what others think my car is.

I had an Audi for a little while, and cleaning the little gaps between the rings in the logo was a real PITA!
That said, I like the look of 550i on the back of mine, so not debadging. Contrary to popular trends, I don't mind internal modifications, but I like to keep the looks as stock as possible

I'm dealing with the same here. I want to leave some things as stock just because I really like this specific series. I'm not sold on debadging yet, might need more time to think about it or add the spoiler and rear diffuser and then decide.

Might also plastidip to see if I like them black, unless they have a grey color I might try that. My car is mineral grey so it might look better that way.

Don't use lighter fluid, dear god haha. Dental floss sucks, it breaks too easily. Fishing line is far better for this. Use goof off or goo gone to clean up the sticker residue.
