Camera Calibration or something else

hey guys, my all around vision camera system is somewhat malfunctioning. Please see the video below, it works but it feels like the camera's are pointing the wrong way.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/77kFd5-REYM

In the video I am going in Reverse, but it feels like the car is moving forward. At the end i'm turning my front wheels full left then right, and you can see them on the screen!

I have used ISTA to initialize them and calibrate them, but still not having any luck.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Ok thank you, I guess it couldn't hurt to try that.

Any background on how this problem came about? I’m guessing you did a retrofit or replaced something camera related and this happened?

Yes, I installed new mirrors that came with their own cameras.

I re-used mine and it still didn’t work, the view is the same with mine or donor car lens so it’s probably not the cameras themselves.

So your vehicle came with camera on mirrors and it had this issue prior or it happened after you did the swap? You swap both or just one? Was your mirrors damaged or something?

Yeah my car came with the full camera system from factory, and it was working perfectly fine before, zero issues.

I swapped for m5 mirrors, from 2015 with the same system.

I used my oem cameras, I used cameras that came with it and same issue persists.

In your case, you will need to recode ECU for Top Rear Side View camera

I will try to flash it and then code it again, hopefully that will take care of it!

Thanks

Flashed the module, all went well and no change.

Cameras are still wonky.. next step will probably be taking the mirrors apart and trying to swap the cameras from left to right and right to left.

Happy to report that problem is solved!

I switched the camera left to right and that didn’t really help much, slightly better but still not normal. Assembled the mirrors back and went into coding values of the TRSVC, found this entry and changed it from f10 LL and f10RR to newmirrorLL and newMirrorRR.

Working perfectly now!
I’m case anyone retrofits mirrors or installs different ones from a used car, most likely they will need this coded to work. Orientation of cameras doesn’t matter, the part number on them looked the same to me.

Where is that option in ISTA?

Service function, body, teach in for all around vision cameras, if I remember correctly. You have to add it to the Test plan, then go to execute it.
