H&R Springs 2010 F07 550i GT XDrive
Hi - I was wondering if anyone had experience with installing H&R Springs (part #50469) on an F07 with X Drive and self leveling. What I've seen mostly on sites is for the 535 which appears to be different. I'm good with wrenches and work on my 325xi and a 540. It looks like most people who have other cars have mechanics do the springs but springs are usually good candidates for the DIY'er.
Any thoughts on the value, performance, and DIY-ability for lowering my F07? Thanks! Erik |

Get coilovers! Transforms the look and ride of the GT. Thanks to @pearl5gt and his work with Megan Racing, 3 of us now have full coilovers fronts and rears retain stock air bag leveling system and use Megan shocks with adjustable air links. We all have been running them and no issues to report.

Have no experience with xdrive but the install is simple on non xdrive F07's. Front springs are standard issue....remove struts and replace springs. Rears are even easier, remove stock links and replace with H&R links. Before installing new links, screw links all the way down to maximum lowering, which isn't that low and will be level with front. If you need the H&R set (50469), I have one on sale for cheap. Just PM me.

The springs are long gone. Just Google h&r 50469 and you'll find them. It's basically 2 front springs and 2 rear links. Check first if they're compatible with xdrive. |
