How to delete active shutters behind the front grilles

Hey guys I have a 2012 535xi and just noticed I have active shutters behind the grilles. I've always seen them closed (they opened once the car was driven for some time and I just happened to get down park the car and randomly saw them open). Didn't think much of it until recently when I wanted a blue V brace.

I have read a few threads from 2014 about people discussing the function/relevance/and removal but haven't really seen a clear DIY Delete for the f10. I did see a g30 being cut up and was wondering would the same method work for the f10? Anyone who deleted their grilles have any feedback on whether it throws a code? How did you delete it?

Our 2012 base did, our 2014 MSport doesn't.

Subbed. I saw mine open for the first time as a tech was pulling into the shop and I'm wishing I had painted them to match my calipers. It looks so mean with them open!
