Where, on the MY12 535i at 5.7s?
Where, for N52 528i? In HK it was given as 6.7s and 8.5s for 528i, 523i .. i have never seen the 6.8 figure..
I've a friend who's in the market for a new car, he tested new A6 2.8q, 528i & E250. He found the 528i to be the slowest due to insufficient torque for it's kerbweight. The A6 is not much better but the S-tronic box means the drivetrain can compensate a bit. The E250 he found to be the best in terms of engine performance, as the turbo gave good torque across the rev range. Before u ask, his previous cars were E46 325Ci, E92 335i & E92 330d, all I6s. Sometimes the performance gain make up for wht u lose in terms of good engine sound etc.
Btw, 0-100 time for N20 528 is 6.3s. The figs u saw at BMWUK is for 0-60mph.
Sorry, for MY12 535i it's 5.9s not 5.7s. Info from BMW press pack (page 15 on doc re 9/2011 product updates).
The 6.8s for N52 is from one of those price sheets BMWHK gave out. It may or may not be wrong as some info given out are incorrect (e.g. the original spec gave torque of N53 & not N52).

So the N20 is definitely noticeably lighter than the N53, 15-30kg? btw is there any weight diff between N52 and N53?
C200 cgi has 270nm also, perfect match.
Probably due to additional cooling needed for auto version of 530i, so the extra weight diff. The cooling is already there for the N20 as turbos inherently need more cooling than NA.
Don't think there's much weight diff between N52 & N53, only marginal diff.

The main reason is due to fuel quality in USA. They can't run some of the DI modes & so they decide not to sell them there b4 they get things sorted out. The M272 V6 engines fitted to markets outside of EU are billed as "low fuel quality version", hence they don't have DI & output is 272ps/350Nm vs 292ps/365Nm.
