F series footwell light upgrade

I recently bought from R44Performance, a small company based in the UK, some LED front footwell lights for my LCI F10. The parts are supplied from the US.
When I fitted them I found that when I selected Classic (orange) in iDrive, the new footwell light turned white, (the rest of the ambient lighting was correctly orange), and when I selected Modern, it turned orange - ie the coding is the wrong way round.
R44 is contacting the US suppliers but the guy I spoke to seemed to think there might be an issue over the white light being called Modern/Sport in different cars, but to me Classic is orange no matter what the white light is called. Has anyone experienced a similar issue or is there a solution to this?
I believe these lights should fit all F cars with the Classic orange Modern (Sport) white ambient lighting choices.
Many thanks

Hi!

Are footwell lights connected OK? The orange and white lines seem to be interchanged.

Yes, I think they are. They will only connect one way as the fitting is asymmetrical and you can't 'turn it around'.

I've checked the new part with the OEM part. The plug has to be rotated 180 degrees to fit into the new part, which then swaps the colours around. Puzzling. I can't see why that has been done or how to get around it!

Just switch pins in connector. I got from China RGB replacement strip and I had to switch two pins for R and G in connector. What to say, cheap replacement and no quality control at all.

Best regards

Yep, just pop the pins out and reverse them. Had a similar issue with aftermarket sequential turn signals in the mirror.
