Hi I'm considering dropping my 535i. How did the H&R springs hold up for you and did it eventually wear out your OEM shocks?

Any recommendations? I'm only looking for the drop look but don't want to compromise expedited wear and tear on my OEM suspension.

Just ordered my H&R sports springs too. I've also ordered Bilstein B8 to replace the OEM shocks/struts. I personally wouldn't use OEM shocks with lowered springs....

I had them on the car for about a year (then sold the car) and I think I put 15k miles on it. For as long as I owned the car, they held up really nice. If you are worried about all that, then I would suggest coil overs but my car was fine on stock suspension + h&r springs.

Not trying to thread jack but I must be doing something wrong I put the fronts on fine. The rear is giving me problems. I get get the bottom bolt in the whole the assembly is to far up on both sides.

I can pull the assembly down but it won't go down far enough. Just doesn't seem right. Any help would be much appreciated!

To the OP I got my springs from ECS for 220 shipped.

Just wanted to update the forum, Incase others run into the same problem.

It was an easy fix... so easy I could kick myself. All I did was wedge a 2x6 on top of the rotor and stuck it in between the lower body of the car. Then pulled the board down while I was underneath the car to line the shock bolt up. Took two minutes.

How did the gloss black wheels look with brake dust? Have been thinking of doing satin black plasti-dip on my silver 550i to see how I like the combo (yours looks good). The Stoptech BBK is dusting as bad as BMW OEM pads. Noticable after a few miles on the silver wheels.

It's not that bad really. You can go longer without cleaning compared to silver wheels.

But on my 535i, it was painted. On my M5, I got them powder coated. Can't say much about plastic dip

I had xdrive as well. These should be it but just double check with TireRack before ordering them: https://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...odClar=M+Sport

I am a happy H&R springs user for my 535I xdrive 2011 since they were installed on March 2016. My OEM shocks are still holding on. One of the best modification I did to my car, this paired with H&R F&R Sway bars, lighter wheels/tires dramatically improved the handling.

ps. this is for pre lci 535i
Here are pics on H&R springs with 20" and 21" wheels. 21" wheels fill the gap better

H&R springs with 343m wheels. It all depends on how much you drive your car for the springs to settle in, a week or a couple hundred miles. Love the way it rides and sits.
