F10 17 inch vs 18 inch alloys

Hey guys,

I'm ordering a new F10 and I live in Jamaica with less than perfect roads, well they can be bad here and there.

Would it really make that much of a difference between 17 and 18 inch wheels? Are the 18 inch wheels prone to cracking?

Thanks.

The 18" wheels aren't prone to cracking and 17" wheels are too small for a 5 Series. It doesn't look right.

Go with 18s. I used 18s on my 535i in the winter. They're fine to hit a few pot holes!

18s the way to go, as 17s are too small.

+1. I've hit a few decent sized potholes with no sign of damage to the standard 18" wheels, and IMO the 17's do look a little undersized when you compare them side-by-side with 18's.

Stock tires are 245/45/180. There is enough sidewall on the stock 18's for imperfect roads.

Thanks, looks like I'll be going with the 18's. The 237's to be exact.
