You can't go wrong with Michelin Pilot Super Sport. Quiet, grips well, and much lighter than the factory run flats.

I have the PSS on my F10 255/35-R20 and 295/30-R20 and i can honestly say that its the best tires i've ever had. No vibration and very stable on the road even with bad surface. Also very quiet.

I doubt that you will be disapointed just changed to summer tyres today finally.

For winter tyres i recommend Nokian Hakkapelliita R.

Hope not, because I ordered the tires today.

I will probably get the new Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 in 245/40/19 before the winter.

I too also swapped out my run flats to Michelin PSS 20" and have not had any regrets. Great tire...no problems what so ever. Pricey but worth it. Will swap out to Michelin Pilot Sport A/S in the fall/winter again when the temps drop.

Not as pricey as the run flats!

I notice consistency in folks running 35' on the front and 30's on the rear.

Why the wider tire on the front?

Thanks.

Because they need to have the same over all diameter...

On a side note, went to discount tires and the pss are on back order for 3 weeks

What does width have to do with diameter?

Everything.
35 and 30 are the profile of the tire while the larger numbers are the width. A narrower tire needs more profile to have the same diameter as a larger width tire...

For example a 255/30/20 tire has a diameter of 26" while a 255/35/20 has an over all diameter of 27" A 295/30/20 has the same diameter of 27 while a 285/30/20 (notice the same profile size) only measures 26.7"

Those number are the profile of the tire. And it's the height of the tire sidewall in % of the width.

I wasn't paying attention to the first number, of each reference for front and rear, and didn't initially realize they were different. It makes sense to me now.

Thanks!

I have 800 miles on my '13 550i M Sport, coming off of the 335i for my last four cars. I hate RFTs and am so glad I'm nipping this problem in the bud. Getting Michelin PSS 245/40/19, and 275/35/19 on Thursday and going to store the OEM Dunlop RFTs in my garage until about 5 months pre-lease end. Driving on Los Angeles roads and freeways with RFTs is torture for both me...and my new car.
