What size wheel spacers for best.
Hi everyone, I have a 2011 550x with the factory M wheels. Has anyone done wheel spacers? If so what size did you use? I want to go for an aggressive look, but don't want any rubbing.

I did 10mm front and 15mm rear but I could have easily gone 12mm front and 18mm rear and still been good.

I went 20mm in the rear and it looks great IMO. No rubbing or anything even close to that (Even when I have 5 ppl in the car).

I want to get new rims, going for the staggered setup with the 275 at the rear. Do you think I'd need a 20mm spacer to get the same look? |

If you are going for a staggered set up with different width wheels front/rear you can just get new wheels with the correct back spacing so you don't need spacers (but you cannot rotate these front to back, and only rotate side-side if the tread is non-directional). I would think you only need spacers for a square set up to push the wheels flush with the wheel wells (which is more cosmetic). I have the staggered set up on my 550i and probably will be going to square with some spacers in the future when my current tires wear out... I like to be able to rotate the tires to get the most life out of them.

I was asking above poster to confirm his picture was with a square setup and 20mm spacer rather than a staggered with another 20mm spacer on top. Most likely square with the spacers on the rear. |
