it would make more sense just to keep the current M2 platform and just extend the wheel base by .5inch, maybe add some more high tensile steel to reduce weight and increase ragidity. The B58 already fits in the current platform..i'm sure it wouldnt take much to fit a s58 into it if they wanted too.
I think that they will use the new platform for the G87. The current M2 is basically an M4 under the body with a shorter wheel base. It wouldn't be that difficult to change the length of the wheelbase. The current chassis is going bye bye IMHO.

Nothing other than you already have seen and what leaked out. I am not fuzzed by that car.

I decided to get a X3 M40i pre-opf as a new daily and finish M2C. The GP2.5 will leave I think and I might a GP3 as a replacement. Other than that, I am just gonna wait and see what happens.

Maybe in 3-4 years when the Supra is ready for a refresh. No way they will give this motor to Toyota before they put it in the M3.

If the supra gets the S58 that will be a rocket. That would be awesome.

This is why I love the n55 engine in OG M2. It's more special, yet reliable and lighter in weight.

Here are my random/scattered thoughts...

The C8 put the world on notice. Other brands are being forced to pick up the pace.

Regarding more power... I have learned that throwing more power at a car is fruitless without the chassis to handle it. A lesson learned from my 16' M3 (which could not handle it) to my SS 1LE (which can).

Does the Supra have the chassis to take more power, not sure , I haven't driven one, but moving forward that will be a factor in my buying decision.

A prefer a balanced sports car where everything works together as a total package.

good engine is a good engine, who cares it goes to where, if Toyota makes them even more reliable the better...

C8 without Z51 package won't do 0-60 under 3 seconds, and the first gear is tuned to get that 0 to 60, Corvette has always been the best bang for the buck, and handling has been there since C6, so I just don't see it as game changer as others have been saying

You heard it here. The answer about the S58 on a Toyota = NO
The Japanese sportcar Supra's B58 is not on the same level as an M's S58. Munich will not give a rival sportcar its great engine.

Meh, M engines without ITBs, in SUVs and saddled to ZF8s. Go ahead and stick them in Toyotas.

I know man. It's like the stupid McLaren F1 project. What was BMW thinking?!

Not to mention Wiesmann GmbH using the S54 and S85 in their cars!

1M, M2, and the newer M3/4 are not cars that I would consider analog really in any sense other than the fact that you can still get them with manual transmissions.
The 1M has hydraulic steering, too, so I’m not sure where you’re getting that the E92 is more analog. The 1M is generally considered more fun to drive than the oversized E92 (and M2,) and it’s really the spiritual successor to the 2002 Turbo from the early ‘70s.

PTF tuned it beyond 500hp now, and papadakis racing has picked the engine apart and thinks it's good for 1000hp..

Race clubs and tuners aren’t so worried about warranties and longevity like BMW/Toyota is, which is my point. How long is the engine and supporting mechanicals going to run problem free at 1000hp? 5000 miles? 15000 miles? Who knows???
