Fuel door won't latch
Hi all, I filled up today and when I went to close my fuel door, it would not latch closed. I noticed the little rubber boot looked loose and sure enough when I touched it the whole thing came out. Sometimes it comes out with the spring, other times without the spring. I've tried placing it back and twisting but it is very loose in there and does not ever function properly. I saw other threads talking about the tether blocking, but doesn't seem to be the issue with mine.
Anyone have this issue and know if I can just replace this rubber boot/spring part myself? Attached images, pardon the massive sizes. |

I think the ejector needs to be replaced. Its super easy and cheap to find online. I have done this on my car about 5 times now since i have subwoofer in the back that keeps breaking these. Look at number 4 in this link:
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=41_2072 you will have to get a pair of needle nose pliers and yank it out. This was the process for my pre-LCI. This place has these for $10: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...or-51177257780 With pic for $11.56: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/51177257780/ |
