Best/Economic way to ship wheel/tires

Not sure if this is the right thread to post, but what is the best way to ship tires/wheels? I see that the average charge on shipping wheels+tires are around $200 shipped across the US. However, I am trying to ship my stock 18" Msport wheels/tires from San Diego, CA to IL and UPS is charging me about $150 to $200 per tire/wheel = $600 - $800 shipping.

So my questions is, where do you guys get your wheels/tires shipped for $200? I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Try a third party carrier. I always use Estes or customco. They charge about 225 for a whole set

FedEx ground has the best rates for something like this (besides freight carrier). I have shipped a few sets with 2 wheels/tires shrink wrapped together for a total of 2 packages at about $170 across the country. Shipping 4 separate wheels will be about $215 on FedEx ground.

I just shipped some wheels on my 370z out. Here is how i did it n i hope it will help.
Open an account with fedex, its free. Then, go online and use your account to do a pick up shipping. They will ask for your dimensions and everything, den declare the value of your wheels. Declare as much as your wheels cost, the variance is not alot. Then lastly wait for them to come pick it up and they will weigh it again to see if what you told them is right. Billed and done. =)!
