Replica for M5 wheels

I've decided to replace my stock 19" on my '11 550i to a set of 20" rims. Plan to go with Avant Garde M355. Anyone have an opinion on the wheels quality? Is there a better brand for the money?

Going to 20" ... whatever you choose unless you drive on the world's best maintained roads buy wheel and tire insurance!

For the cost, you may want to shop around for the real M5 wheels. I found someone in California (w/ an M5) that replaced stock with HREs and sold me OEM M5 wheels. High quality and light for being OEM -- couldn't be happier.

What diid you pay for them? The AG I can get for $1,200. It looks like the OEM are in the $3-$4K range. I don't race so über performance isn't that important.

where did you find the AG 20" for $1200. I would like to check them out. The cheapest I was able to find them for was about $1400+ from pyspeed...

About $3K. Not sure about the AG finish but the inner barrels on the stock M5 wheels are painted and clear coated ... superb finish IMHO.

Keep in mind that the OEM m5 wheels are forged, therefore much stronger. I had aftermarket cast wheels on my previous e90 335i and while they were certainly less expensive upfront, I had to replace two wheels inside of a year - one bent and one cracked. Bottom line is that the cast wheels will never be the same quality if you live in an area with anything other than silky smooth roads.

I just recently bought a slightly used set of OEM M5 wheels from a fellow member and couldn't be happier. The offsets on the OEMs are slightly more aggressive when compared to the AGs which results in a slightly better stance in my opinion.

As for cost, I've seen prices range from $2,000 - $2,500 without tires. Good luck with whatever decision you make.

I have a set of M368 on my car... They look great BUT they are really weak. I have pitting and they bent on a normal size pot hole that you would encounter on a daily basis. I see the OP is from Ventura... not sure the AG would fair well on LA freeways and roads.

If i could do it over again I would probably not go with AG.

I would recommend you to get OEM. Like Leon has said, they are VERY light for 20" rims. I couldn't believe how light it was with Mich. PSS on them.
Just keep searching the forums, you'll find deals. Trust me.
