Should be fine, but I'd just JB weld the adapters in and call it a day lol. I prefer the rubber ones because it accomodates different shaped and sized jack stand heads easier. I use the ESCO stands anyhow, which are flat topped, so it's not super relevant to be if they're rubber or metal.

Don't see why not. It's spreading the force evenly and into the adapter body itself, so it's not super localized. Plus, even if they get fucked up, they're super cheap and you can always replace with metal ones.
