Cylinder Injection Shutdown (10FF01) - 2014 550i
Full Code: 10FF01 cylinder injection shutdown: pressure too low in high pressure system 2.
I just picked this car up about 2 weeks ago, took it for a decent test drive before purchase, history checked out on it, just serviced by the local BMW dealership, etc. But once I got it back home and had some more time to enjoy it I got randomly some drivetrain malfunctions. It felt like a misfire after it would throw them, pulling over and turning it off then back on fixed it. I just picked up a bootmod3 license and pulled the code 10FF01 from it. I cleared the codes initially, then when I was merging onto the freeway I punched it and it acted up, it was the only code registered after clearing. Looking around, I don't see that code listed anywhere. I do see others talking about "Cylinder Injection Shutdown", but with different codes, some say replacing the high pressure pump fixed it. It only does it while giving it the beans, but it also it not an every time thing. Also no CE light was on after any time it has done it. And sometimes I felt like it happened, but I let off instantly before the malfunction popped up. Just seeing if anyone has ran into this code before, or has a direction to head with it? Looks like the high pressure pump is a bit pricey, and I haven't looked at the labor involved in it, I still have an extended warranty sitting on the table with my bank, so I may just go that route and then have it checked out too. |

Did you get this issue resolved? Had something similar but I got a hpfp plausible code to accompany the low pressure in fuel code. Seeing that you only have one code and no cel I would take it in for a pressure check.

I'm just waiting for my 4/60k warranty to kick in (purchased it a few days ago) then I'll see what's going on. But yeah, only one code for me so far without the CEL. Last edited by 1Kurgan1; 08-29-2020 at 09:53 AM.. |

Update on this, it didn't occur for 8 weeks in a row. Even ran an 14 Camaro SS up to 100 a few times, no issues. But September / October I had no problems.
But then the beginnging of November it came back, but would not go away with the car turned off. More codes popped, numerous cylinders shut down now. So it went in and it's as bad as it gets. Cylinders 2 and 3 are done for. 60 PSI on 3 and 0 on 2. Not exactly sure why, mechanics guess is the oil filter was cheaper and disintegrated and plugged some passages. But he also was unsure of why it would have had issues that went away for 2 months. And it had been inspected by BMW right before purchase, so I would think that they were the ones who did the oil change. Either way, glad I bought the warranty. A brand new motor is on the way, putting on catless downpipes and the upgraded Tmap sensors at the same time. Last edited by 1Kurgan1; 11-21-2020 at 07:25 PM.. |
