FWIW, our local club has seen half a dozen of the charge pipes fail on N55's between different series.

In the process of changing out my charge pipe for a for an aftermarket CP I broke the stock pipe trying to remove the vacuum line. The entire connector just broke off the CP. It very clear that the stock CP is very brittle.

Sorry to bump such an old thread.
It was a pain the a$$ to get the charge pipe in. Honestly shoulda just went with ER brand if Goes in as easily as Bryan@Kies. How necessary is putting the rubber o ring inside? I even tried lubing it up as someone mentioned on new pipe and still wouldn’t go in. But without the o ring inside it went on so easily?! It still feels super tight and secure with the clamp on the shell. |

I'm thinking that you'll definitely be needing any O-rings. My FTP installed OK. Because of something stupid I did, I had to do the process twice. The first time went super easy. The second time, for whatever reason, I seemed to scratch the new CP against more things. Oh well.

This literally has to be the worst install ever!!! It took me 30 mins to get everything off and prepared. I have been trying to get that top end into the throttle body for the last 5 hours. Waiting for my friend to get here and I’ll have him pull while I pushed against the charge pipe and hopefully it snaps into place. I have tried VASELINE like the countless YouTube comments said to Lmao. I even swapped the old O ring into the new charge pipe and it still will not click. What the hell I should’ve read these reviews about the VRSF charge pipe before purchasing it. The other brand seems to click in right away
