Mine is shimmying and "wondering" when car is up to speed. Is this control arms? I'm thinking of replacing mine. Only 50k miles though....

I'm at 102k this month. It's a 2014 550i xDrive. Apart from regular oil changes and maintenance, haven't had any issues. Planning to change the transmission oil soon though.

Hey guys, I’m at 198,000 on my 2011 528i 6cyl. I’ve been very consistent with the services since I bought it at 40,000 miles and have no major issues. The biggest items have been the starter motor at 153k miles and recently the valve cover at 189k miles and soon the lower control arm bushings.. I’ve been very consistent with Oil, Fuel Cleaner, Ignition Coils and Spark Plugs so the car feels very smooth and responsive👍🏽😎

I have owned 3 BMW's and most of my repairs were needed in the 80,000 range. We must drive our vehicles in similar manners.

I'm new to the F10 world, but my '11 model with the N52 I6 has been having problem after problem. It has 112k miles on it, so really not a ton. Have had the oil sensor go out, both DISA valves, PCV valve/full valve cover, and valvetronic eccentric shaft sensor (luckily done at same time of PCV). I have two E9x with 180 and 220k miles on them, and hardly any problems other than the typical oil leaks. Got the '11 specifically for the I6 in it, but really questioning how well it was maintained (purchased from dealer, no records). Hopefully this will shake out the bugs and let me get it up to the 200k mile range I keep cars till!

2016 550i w/ 17k miles. 2nd owner and bought earlier this year. Got super lucky and found a cream puff. Original owner didn't drive it (much) and was in his mid 70s. He took good care of it and was not molested. Not sure how long i'll own it but i, too, also anticipate repairs, other than routine maintenance. I don't have a warranty but, instead, stash $$$ away each month in the event something comes up in the future. These cars are amazing and I love being behind the wheel of such an amazing machine. 550is are such sleepers!

I have an F10 2011 528i with 115k on the odometer. I have the N52. I bought it for really cheap with a blown timing chain with 101k miles on it. I planned on having to do the timing chain repair but it ended up being covered by warranty. It's not a sulev vehicle so I assumed the warranty was expired but there was some extended warranty on some of the components so the dealer fixed everything for free. I would recommend always calling the dealer even over 100k miles and make sure your repairs aren't covered by warranty before paying out of your own pocket. Besides that I've had to replace control arms and sassy bar bushings but that's about it.

How do the diesel engines hold up? I know the Benz Blutecs are great until they aren't, and then pretty much end up costing you more in repairs than you've saved at the pump. Kinda' wary of them due that.
