F10 N20 ticking noise when gas is pressed
Hello guys,
I am new here, and I don't really have experience with forums but I'll do my best to explain the issue. Because my car was from 2012, I thought it would be safer to replace the timing chain just in case. I did replace it at a service where a close friend works, he insisted on doing it. He changed the timing chain, oil pump chain, gaskets, and lots of other many things related to this operation. Here comes the strange part... After picking up the car, I notice a new clicking/whining/rattle (I don't even know how to call it) when pressing the gas and it is increasing with the RPMs (only when touching the pedal - if released, it stops, no matter the RPM when you release). Went straight back to the garage with the car, took the mechanic for a spin and he says that he can't hear anything (the car already warmed up and the noise was not as intense). He said that there are some fittings missing from the tons of cables that are in the engine bay and the plastics are rattling at a certain vibration and resonate when the RPM increases. Plausible, but I think I need a second opinion... Here is a video: |
