Let's be real here. Your wife and kid didn't get in an accident, your car didn't get totaled, there's just some curb rash on a wheel that can be refinished for maybe 500 or less. Don't get so worked up over material things. MUCH worse happens to people all around the world. First world problems to the max!!!!

37+ years of marriage, I live by one motto

Happy Wife = Happy Life. Just quietly get the wheel repaired, and even more gently inform her that she only drives her car. Expensive toys get broken every now and then, "it" happens

be careful or the next thing out of her might be - "me or the car, your choice"

It's all good everyone! I'm not that "DUDE" it's just material things that can be fixed or replaced. I'm just bummed and the family's safety is always first! I can laugh about it now!

that's what i forgot to mention. they did tell me they would take the wheel apart since it is a 3 piece forged wheel and if they can't repair the lip it can be replaced. i'll find out more once he receives the pictures and the wheel itself.

23 years marriage here! she understands as she was also in the car show scene with her Honda Accord back in the days when we both would show our cars and i remember her being to meticulous and careful with her wheels, body kit, paint, mods, ect...so she understands how i feel.

And that's something that we have to accept that there could be damage and the person that did it, truly didn't mean to.

End of the day, I know it sucks but always look at the long road. Cars and toys are just temporary; family is forever.
i hear ya! Family's first...priority one!

It actually looks pretty bad, sorry to see that.

That said, I still stand by my initial (post #7) advice.

Older I get, it gets easier to just file things under "oh well, sometimes s... just happens".
Worst case scenario, you have to buy new rim, so be it, stings a bit now, but you'll get over it soon.

my coworkers are repeatedly walking into my office telling me they love the new look lol they're just giving me a hard time and laughing about it so from my office window the car is about ehhh 70' away and one of the guys is standing here looking out and says "damn...i can see that scratch from here!"

That's funny. You see it's paying off already, good story for years to come and good fun at work and here in the forum.

To follow up on my previous advice, once you've repaired it, make sure you wife drives the car again, just to show her how much you love and trust her. I know it'll be incredibly hard, but, potential payback on the long run... lol... imagine the possibilities, sky is the limit.

Curb the other 4. Call it Time Attack edition?

Serious note I know how you feel man. My wife curved not one but 2 of my Magnesium Blue TE37s I use to have while backing the car up.

I don't know if it was an accident looks more like she got tired of competing with your mistress always clean and polished and probably always getting gifts (upgrades). :

Good luck man! Maybe this is the perfect time to buy a new set of rims? Hahaha

My wife doesn't ever drive my Bimmer but she sure does drive her Mercedes into the side of the garage or the minivan onto whatever the hell else she decided to run into. I think I'm safe because we have 5 cars and two are for her to drive, the Odyssey and the Mercedes GL.

Here you go! My wife just overflowed the deep sink in our upstairs laundry.

I think you're doing a little better than I!

They just add material and paint. Now it is like a new one, I can't find where it was damaged
