I am prepare to change my 2012 528i xdrive, diff front and real fluid, Transfer Case Fluid:
Few thing need prepare and have questions:
1. Jack Up the car: I understand there is front car mental part to use low profile floor jack to jack the car up, and then put two jack stands. And then go to real of the car, jack up at bottom of the transfer case, may be use 2x4 wood?, then put two more jack stand in the real of the car.
Issue: I need get a low profile floor jack and jack stand has round head?, and I need also get 4 jack pad (POTAUTO) at https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...UWEE6PI7&psc=1
I have two big red 3 ton jack stands ( the head is not going fit well with the jack pad?)and one Duralast 2 ton floor jack ,(not low profile).
Wonder can I still using existing equipment, and just buy two more jack stands and 4 jack pads?

2. The right fluid for the job, I just came back from the bmw dealer found the right part #:
1. Real diff fluid part # 07-51-2-293-972(synthetic), 1 bottle $22
2. Front diff fluid part # 83-22-295-532(hypoid axl), 2 bottles 2x$54=$108
3. Tranter Case fluid part #83-22-2-409-710(DTF 1:8325)1 bottle $53
Question? Do I need 2 bottle of front diff fluid? Can I get these items from different website? For the same fluids with cheaper price?

I am looking to replace my diff fluids and transfer case fluid, but I got confused when I talk to few BMW dealers about what kind of fluid should I use? one dealer says use the same for diff front and real, and the other says use different one, another dealer told me use different part #. Can you give me a clarification on this? my car has no limit slip.

no, just need find time. I don't think I have issue to change diff front and real fluids, but a little scare of do the transfer case fluid. Mine mileage is 48K. Dealer keep asking me to change, but at all the forum, I didn't see anyone has 2012 528i xdrive changed it here.

if you're close to 60K miles, there is absolutely no reason not to change the diff and transfer case fluids. you will notice that the car drives smoother and quieter when you do.
