Which Sparks Plugs for tuned N63

Hey guys what spark plugs do you recommend for a tuned (JB4) N63? I know the N54 guys go a step colder, not sure if we need to do the same.

Just purchased the car and would like to refresh the ignition system before adding the tune.

Thanks

You might want to pick up the ones that are used in the Alpina's (look up realoem under engine electrical for Alpina B6 or B7)

That's a good idea, but it shows the same part number, so Alpina didn't go colder.

Edit: Actually I have to correct myself, NGK website uses the same number for both vehicles, REALOEM has an NGK for Alpina, (same as regular 650i according to NGK), but REALOEM lists a Bosch plug for the 650i. No idea what the differences are between the two.

I had looked into this same topic.
I ended up going to stock spec plugs (same heat range) from Denso.
I was getting the drivetrain malfunction after having put 1000 miles with a tune on my plugs that already had 34k on them.

With new fresh plugs, this problem would be solved.

Unless you are pushing 550hp+, I don't see a need for colder plugs as there are other drawbacks such as poor idle.

Just my experience here:

I was having misfire issues on a tuned N63TU. I went to factory S63TU plugs and gapped them down to 24. The performance is much better now, no misfire, less timing retard and idles fine.

Also, 40k miles on the car and the plugs looked bad. Graying around the bottom of the insulator on every one.
