F10 N55 Improved Replacement Turbo Inlet

For those with F10's with the N55 (535i and 535xi), once you are at approx. the 400RWHP mark the inlet becomes a serious restriction making your turbo strain for air at high RPM. When I was tuning mine with a Pure Stage 2 it was very difficult to achieve over 16 PSI using the stock inlet.

I have completed an initial run about 6 months ago and they sold out pretty quickly. I am looking to have another run made, I am hoping for at least 10 to get better pricing for everyone. The initial run sold at $495 shipped within the US. If I can get a group buy of 10 complete I can do better on pricing. Please PM me if interested.

Below are pictures of the new inlet, next to stock, and installed to turbo. I would highly recommend installing at time of turbo upgrade if you are going PS2. This isn't an easy install because of all the BMW coolant plumbing, but it isn't bad if done when replacing the turbo.

Perfect, I have you down for 2. I am going to give it just a little longer to try to get to 10 to get the price down for everyone.

The process is under way, I am hoping to have them ready to ship in 4-5 weeks, so target will be Mid-October. I am having 10 made on this run. Price for the inlet will be $399 + Shipping (Approx. $14 in the US, just passing cost for Flat Rate Medium Box). Please PM me if you would like to lock in. I am asking for a $100 deposit to guarantee you will be on the list for the 10 being made.

Anyone that has expressed interest has been sent a PM. If anyone else is interested, please send me a PM and I'll get back to you with more information. I should have a few more available.

Man I wish I could justify getting this, can't drop the coin for it rn, esp since I'm still on a stock turbo. I noticed this was a restrictive spot before I even bought this car just from looking at it.

It seems the whole air duct trac is restrictive. If it could jump from the passenger side grill to the turbo that would be optimal

The limits of the rest of the intake aren't restricting the PS2. I run 22-23 PSI with the inlet and think I am near maxing the PS2. I should have mine on the dyno soon, I am just waiting for temps to come down. It was still around 106 today. I was playing around a little tonight but ambient was still 87 degrees, my IATs were sitting around 110.

Your at 22-23psi at 6-7k rpm? Or what do you taper to at the top?

21 PSI @ 6300 RPM, then tapering to 18 @ 6800 RPM, but I usually shift by 6500 to keep boost up..

Dayum. I bet your car hauls a$$. My MHD stage 1 feels fast; can't imagine what a PS2 will do on our cars.

Thanks, it does really move. With the hot weather still here I haven't been playing with it too much, but I walked an M2 this morning, and a Challenger this evening. I rarely seem to find cars to run with, but today had 2 of them.
Next week should be our first under 100 degrees in ages. I am hoping to run at No Fly Zone on Oct. 13th and dyno the car before then.

How was NonFly Zone any vids? Also any updates on inlets?

NFZ was a bust, it was predicted to rain so I didn't sign up and I am glad I didn't. They ran the event anyway since they already have to pay for the rental and I heard there was only about 1 hour of dry weather.

I talked to my fabricator for the inlet the end of last week and they were getting the welding finished up, then they go off to powder coat. I should have the inlets very soon.

The weather seriously cooled off quick here, we went from 105 every day to raining every day which hasn't been helpful, except my grass looks good now.

I'll be at the No Fly Zone in Coalinga in 2 weeks. Won't be the fastest thing out there but still should be fun. Looking forward to the inlet! 20psi here I come.
