Window Tint for your F10
Hey guys,
So I am looking to get my windows tinted. I am still not sure about what tint % should I get. The standard in MA is 35% for the front, but for the rear, I can do any %. I am wondering how you tint your cars, do you do same % all around or you do front two windows lighter? What tint % do you do? Also, have anyone of you tried tinting the windshield like 10-20% darker? Thanks in advance guys |

I have 30.. But remember not all tint comes in the same percent.
For example some will be 28, 35, 40... It really depends on the brand. Also, some are more reflective than others and give a mirror effect. As for me I think the same all around looks the best... 30ish precent. Look at brands like Llumar, 3M, Solar Guard for good tint at a good price. |

Also consider your interior color. Dark interiors don't reflect as much light and will give your tint a darker appearance. Personally I like lighter tints and am tired of being harassed by the boys in blue here in NYC so I went with 50% ceramic tint. My interior is black BTW.

Silver Exterior - Mocha Brown Interior w/ Black headliner NY-Metro Area - visit Tom @ The Art of Tint <-- Excellent work & a great product ... exclusive dealer of formula 1 in the area The optical clarity on the Formula 1 Pinnacle is far superior to many films that I have used in the past, and it of course is color stable ... nice black/grey color tone (no green hues here) |

For me, true privacy means you put it in the trunk. For sun protection I put in llumar airblue (80%) all the way around. And I have sunshades for the extra back seat passenger protection.
Having the same tint all the way around looks cleaner and I still have good night vision. Other bonus= no police looking at me |

See below if interested in pricing and description of the product. Your 2014 BMW 535 M Sport Sedan will cost $195.00 to apply film to the rear windows. At this price we will be using Llumar's Formula One Premium carbon based film, The Classic Series, on all windows, which is the highest quality carbon dyed film in the industry. This includes all shades of carbon from the 5% (aka "limo tint") to the lightest 50% film. This film is backed by a hassle-free, comprehensive, Nation-wide Lifetime warranty that guarantees the film will not bubble, discolor, or peel over time. We do have other products featuring greater heat reduction levels; ultimately the price depends on the composition of the film you choose. We also carry a solid ceramic construction film, The Pinnacle Series. Some vehicles have advanced electronic devices (i.e. intelligent key systems, bluetooth, navigation, satellite radio, remote start, etc.) which require the use of a film that will not interfere with electronic signals. Please see http://www.formulaone.com/en/pinnacle.aspx for more details on this product. This type of film is the most advance ceramic film on the market featuring impregnated, conductive metal that helps enable electronic signals. This film will cost $320.00 to apply film to the rear windows. Our latest offering the new Air Blue 80 nano-ceramic film from Llumar for your Front 2 Doors is a great choice. It is an 80% UV film that meets CA law and reduces as much heat as a traditional "limo" tint. This product runs $125.00 for the pair. This film is recognized by the Skin Cancer Foundation for its ability to reject 99.9 of UVA and UVB rays. Please keep in mind that the state of California regulates the level of light reduction for front windows, so we recommend using a 50 state legal film. |

I just had my brand-new GTI tinted all around with 35 percent Sun Tech carbon black. Cost 220! Northern Virginia small shop prices versus expensive chain stores.

35 Looks good Thank you for the pictures. I got a qoute of $160 at a small local shop. They have 57 reviews on yelp and all 5 stars. Family business.
I guess I'll be doing 30 all windows. 75% on the windshield |

Tints is an art and its all about the installer! Get Llumar CTX ceramic @ Tropic Tints in Union. Cost you 4bills but well worth it. Does price even matter if you driving a f10?

I'm not a fan of super dark tint so I went with 50 front/35 this time with Pinnacle F1. I would consider 50 all around next time for sure.

Optical Clarity is non-existent ... This film is so hazy from the inside it is unbearable. Made the mistake of letting my previous installer use this film. Had it removed within the same week & Formula 1 Pinnacle applied ... much better ... clear ... like glass should be! |
