Pro sat-nav question
Hi All,
I'm on the verge of trading in my E92 330d for an F10 535d M Sport and I have a question on the sat-nav. When driving at night on our lovely, twisting and unlit Scottish country roads I usually prefer to have the screen switched off as it can be a distraction. However, on my '08 E92 there always remains a dim, but very noticeable, backlight, even when I've fully dimmed it before selecting 'off'. Additionally, the lower information bar randomly illuminates and then goes back off - all rather annoying. Can any of you F10 owners tell me whether the screen behaves similarly or does it go completely dark when switched off? Many thanks, Jon D. |

Interesting, I never thought of shutting it off and am not sure it can. If it's not showing navigation or vehicle mileage status or entertainment listings, it can simply sit on the main menu which is about as distracting as 7 or 8 buttons on the dash.
The backlight isn't too bright at all, although the brightness can be adjusted. I have mine on full and not even thought about it.

The 530d I had also went black - I switched it off by mistake whilst driving along the motorway.
