Non M-Sport Pre-LCI steering wheel to M-Sport LCI wheel

I know this is a specific question and TIA but does anyone know if my 2011 non sport wheel (no paddles) can be swapped out for a 3 spoke m-sport model?

Yes it can, but if the lci has paddles you have to code for them to work. Also airbag is different. Also make sure the steering wheel is off a 5 or 6 series. Other models won’t fit.

Hey man,
I replaced my non LCI (the ugliest one) heated steering wheel with a M5 non-heated steering wheel with paddles, and obviously the m5 can not be plugged into the heating circuit.. it gives me a Driver restraint system malfunction code. The wheel's buttons work just fine.. all of them (except the M1 and M2 of course).. the horn works as well but it throws this annoying Driver restraint system malfunction codes:
930910
93090A

Do you guys think it's because of the wheel not being plugged into the heating circuit???

I will try to configure the paddles to work today.. but this red error codes are disturbing me.

Thanks

I've seen this issue discussed in another thread and as far as I can tell there are at least a few possible solutions to try:

I have the same issue, but I installed my steering wheel couple years ago and the same errors just came on. Did you ever figure out what the issue was?
