Hi all,

My 520d occasionally throws up a overheating warning and I can't work out why.

The temp gauge will move up and down as I drive and the fans will sometimes kick in when I'm stationary. I'll attempt to attach a video and photo. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated as I'm due to take the family on holiday shortly and would like it done for obvious reasons.

I forgot to mention the coolant level looks fine and it's recently been in for the EGR cooler recall but nothing needed doing apparently.

I advise going over the basics...here is a good start...

With your holidays around the corner, and your plans to use the vehicle in your travels, consider a repair shop to diagnose the problem.
