My new to me 2011 550i

Not sure if this is the right forum. Feel free to move it as appropriate.

Just wanted to introduce myself as Ill likely be here for a while. Ive previously owned a 1998 540i and a 2001 323Ci. I missed my 540i so much I decided to get back into the V8 game again.

My E46

Started to do a few things

Brakes

Body:
I know some people will knock on me for the m5 fenders but they look sooo much better. I have no intention of badging it as an M5 just so we're all clear. And I chose the Msport kit not the M5 kit for that reason as well. Just waiting on the side skirts and rear valence.

Exhaust:
Got this for a steal. Its from an M6 Comp I believe but the rear pipes are the same as the M5 Comp and the front pipes are different. But I got an exhaust guy and it cost me $400CAD for the whole thing. Cant really go wrong.
Just gotta order up some catless downpipes and should cover that angle.

I would like to retrofit the KAFAS camera and will replace the windshield as its cracked with one that has the cut outs for it. Ive already started looking at building my intakes using the F15 intake boots and some 3" maf adapters.

I also replaced the rad and coil packs/spark plugs.

I also plan on buying a long block and swapping the engine out for a fresh one. Doesn't look too bad of a job. Ive done many on my Skyline (its for sale!)

I also took the time to get Rhiengold and Esys setup and have done some coding for those hard to get to options. Looking forward to a fun future with this car.

Congrats on the new purchase! Given the level of expertise you're bringing to the party, you should have a great platform there for tweaking and upgrading. I hope you enjoy the experience with your 550.

Anyways, got the side skirts and front end assembled. Paint doesn’t match but it was cheap and I plan to wrap or dip it something funky.

Got the ARM Motorsports catless downpipes and m5/6 comp exhaust on as well. Boy that cold start will wake the neighbourhood lol. Since then it appears as though it’s burning oil. See my next thread for more on that and my progress diagnosing it. I’m an RN and far from a mechanic but owning a few drift cars has taught me a few things.
