Service history/intervals
Had my car in for it's MOT last week, all passed with a clean sheet! Asked about next service items as the car is showing 4k miles/March 2019 - it's for the brakes.
When I got home and read the visual inspection report, it stated the discs/pads are only 40% worn so well within their lifespan. The computer this week has dropped the next service (still for brakes) to now just be 300 mile/March 2019. As there is still circa 60% wear left in my pads/discs, is there a way to reset the service schedule appropriately? Getting bored of the "Next service due" message being red every time I start the car! Or should I speak to my dealer given they gave it the once over a week ago? Thanks, Barry |

If you are sure the pads are only 40% worn, (including the inner pads), resetting the CBS for the brakes is a common thing to do. Garage did it for me, (due to rear wear rate dropping far too fast), after checking physical pad wear at one of my service visits.
Can be done through the service menu, if you want to do it yourself. |

It's with BMW tomorrow for an update on the Sat Nav (bargain £25 through the dealer!!) so I'll ask them to take a look but just in case they don't I'll check the levels myself and change in the service menu if you could let me know how... Cheers, Barry |

I've done it myself when changing discs and pads. It is an easy procedure.
Probably the simplest way to see what to do, is take a look at a video or two on YouTube. |
