Mine aren't original alpinas. They are replica. 8,5" et25 front and 10" et41 rear. Currently running them with 12mm spacer at front and 5mm at rear.

No pics for today but I got my ac system completely recharged after smashing my condenser. $153 and change with a military discount and took about an hour and fifteen minutes. Next on the docket is to replace the Guibo and center bearing and possibly add the rear differential insert but $120 seems steep for such a thing. I had a rear mount insert on my MK7 GTI and it was about $60 new and the same style of insert. Not sure how a 3D printed item can cost $120.

Because replacing that bushing is 10x at the Stealership and a pain the @ss to do it yourself.

On the other hand, depending on your modeling software, you could come up with a similar design, with similar dimensions, then create your own STL file and print it out yourself for cheaper....if you have access to a 3D plastic printer....and if you did it perfectly the 1st time around, you'd be ahead of the curve. But then you might find that those spools of plastic aren't that cheap.

After it's all said and done....$120 is a reasonable price..IMHO. You are paying for the engineering and tools used to produce the plastic bushing spacer, not just for the material.

Now, if it only last a season....I'd agree with you....it wouldn't be worth $120, so please keep us posted on the "durability" value.

I would rather use a poly insert than a 3d printed one. I think the longevity of it isn’t gonna be as good as poly.

I mean, then get a poly one. The 120 is to also compensate for the time spent designing it and providing support, not just for materials alone.

Rear diff bushings was such an easy job to do, so I'd rater use the money on new bushings.

Anyone know what the insert is made of? PLA? ABS? infill values?

Those three things will dramatically affect longevity.
