H&R Springs on Msport Photos and reviews?

hi there. anyone with Oem Msport suspension install H&R springs with the drops 1.4" Front - 1.3" Rear (not the ones with 1 inch drop) care to post photos and reviews? im particularly concerned about excessive bounce after a few thousand miles. i want to preserve as much of the comfort as possible. also, i did plenty of googling and searching on the forum. i cant get a good idea of what the msport looks like with these springs. preferably would like to see those who also have 20's installed, but not required. thanks in advance for your help on this

ps. this is for pre lci 535i

Mine's an XI, so not sure if it sits any different than RWD, and sitting on smaller tires than stock (235/40/19 & 265/35/19).

Here's how it sits on OEM 19's with 255/40/19's all around (my winter setup).

Here's a comparison

comparison by ONEighty_NYC, on Flickr

Honestly, I would never go with anything but H&R springs, had them on all my cars and have installed hundreds of other brand springs on various cars for my customers and I would never consider anything but H&R. The ride feels like stock, but the car sits lower... and since its a little lower, the lower center of gravity tightens up the ride just a tad bit, but you get used to it just within a few days and it feels exactly like it did with stock suspension.

As for bounciness... I installed these on a NYC car with 43K miles, and I have yet to experience any bounce or increase in body roll (from stock). I'll tell you right away though... after 20K miles, you will notice a difference, and the shocks will go sooner than they would with stock, but its with any springs.

TECHNICALLY speaking, the rule of thumb is to upgrade your struts when you lower the car with lowering springs, in which case I'd recommend Belstein's, but I don't see a point of spending the extra money on struts, at least not till the stock struts start going.

Don't hesitate, get them... and you won't regret it.

i never measured mine, i know the drop is about 1.3-1.4 inches. it does not look or behave like a really low car. comfort of the ride is still there, some noted stiffness and stance looks like it should have looked from factory.

are you planning to use HnR with factory wheels or aftermarket wheels? I am curious to see.

I am planning to install H&R springs before I add after market wheels. I'm planning to go with a 20" but I want to see how low the will be before wheels.

i installed the i'm on 20's as well. it is not low. i never scrape my bumper or have any lowered car issues. like i said in my previous post, it looks and feels like the height it should have come with from the factory. if you don't want a slammed car, h&r is the way to go IMO.

this is not the best photo, but this is the settled height of the h&r springs. you can see there is plenty of ground clearance and the wheel gap has been closed up. i wouldn't worry about these, you'll be happy with them if you dont want a slammed car. buy your 20's and drop the car on H&R.

I just ordered H&R too. I'll take a before and after pic as well as the DIY install. I'll be doing the install myself. I have AG M359 20" sitting in the garage waiting . I'm going to ride on the stock wheels for 2-3 weeks and wait for the springs to settle down then get it aligned. I'll roll on the AG's after.

Ride is excellent. Much better than OEM. Suspension does well for driving here on the PNW with not too much issues with the road due to the drop. Some problems with driveways I am told by my service advisor who doesn't recommend putting the BMW OEM CF front splitter on due to fears of road damage. Can understand that a bit as on some driveway entrances I can hear the front make slight contact but when I look no damage visible to the front air dam in the center or sides...probably is the black part underneath and engine plate I am hearing...but depending on where you like it may/may not prevent you adding front aerodynamic effects/kits so that may be an issue to think about. Otherwise I have no issues or complaints. Price was good definitely more competitively priced than other options (Dinan, AC) and pretty easily available at multiple vendors (got mine from TireRack).

PS initial picture is right after installed and had not really settled. Pic with my 20" wheels on (non OEM) is after they have settled and with about 3k on them. Just for your info.
