Carbon black with powder coated wheels

Hello everyone,

I own a 2016 BMW 535i msport finished in carbon black. I am looking for suggestions on what color to have my 351m wheels refinished in. If anyone has any suggestions or has powder coated wheels on their carbon black car I would love to see them. I originally wanted gloss black but I am leaning away as carbon black cars actually looks blue in the sun.

I've been toying with gunmetal. I keep thinking I'd try the gunmetal Plasti Dip to see how I like it; I just need the motivation.

Seen these locally for sale, they say dark gray... Just showing the 351M's in a dark gray for reference...

I found a post on the forum of folks powder coating their wheels with this color powder coat which I think looks great, I'm planning on having this done to mine at some point. Last picture is the black 343ms on my carbon black f10, I like the look but I think having more contrast could help!

Sounds like you're doing the same thing I did a few years back. At first I was going to go black as i've had that on previous cars but the Carbon Black needs something special. I spent months going back and forth until I found the perfect color for me. I went with a gunmetal grey and I love it. Really glad i didn't go with a color that was too dark. The specific color is Argento.

Thanks for sharing. I really like that look, perfect amount of contrast with the carbon black. Is there a certain brand of powdercoat you looked for or just whatever your shop used?

Not sure what manufacturer they use. I used a shop in Dallas called Unit F14 Powder coating - https://unitf14.com/

Give them a call. My color was called Argento. They might be able to put you in the right direction. I spent months going back and forth on the color. Good luck.
