Trunk doesn't want to latch

When I push the button to lower the trunk, it drops almost to the point of latching and then pops up. If I add a little push on the down stroke the trunk latches fine. I looked on the web and can't find any sort of reset function.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

disconnect the negative battery terminal, wait 5 minutes.. then reconnect.. my trunk was acting funny.. and that did the trick... also.. just make sure nothing is blocking the way it closes and look in the latch it self, maybe something is stuck in there... weird stuff can happen sometimes

The damn thing fixed itself in a couple of days. Thanks for the suggestion.
