Help! iDrive for 2015 LCI 550i xDrive
I've decided to keep my car for awhile, and was wondering if anyone can help me with a couple of radio/iDrive questions. I've searched but honestly don't even know what I'm searching for, since I don't know much about what I even have.
1 - What gen iDrive do I have now? It's not touch screen, and the resolution is pretty bad compared to what is out now. I believe it may be iDrive 4.0 Professional NBT, but not sure. 2 - What can I upgrade to, if it is even possible? I would love to retro the newer iDrive system if possible. Higher resolution and touch screen, with the new UI (tiles). I believe it is called NBT EVO? I do not want to lose any current functionality, nor am I interested in non OEM. 3 - XM/SIRIUS sounds horrible. I am guessing it's because of current hardware/chip. Is it possible to upgrade to make it sound better like in newer cars, and, is this all part of the same iDrive system or is it independent? Thanks in advance for your help on this. |

You probably have ID4. What you want is ID5/6. You’ll need the screen and the hard drive to get what you’re looking for. There are vendors that can help you with that or keep a eye out when someone is selling both or either or.
