535i N55 Engine failure

Hello to my fellow BMW forum members, a G20 owner looking for some guidance and advice for a friend with a 535i (N55) F10.

I was sad to hear that after only two months of motoring the conrod bearings failed and ultimately caused catastrophic engine failure. He's been to a local specialist and they are looking at £6k - £8k for a rebuild.

I'm looking for any thoughts/ advice/ guidance on that price, or if they know of a specialist anywhere in the UK could help, or even get hold of another engine to drop in??

It's a 2010 Engine code N55B30MO
