New owner, kinda new.
Hi everyone!
I'm about to pull a trigger on the 5 series, it's 2014 with the N55 engine. The car has 15k miles, has one owner, and is super clean. Has an M package, HUD, comfort seats, etc. I've owned the same car that I traded for my current F15 a few years ago. So F15 will be 100% wives, and F10 will be my DD . The F10 I'm about to pull a trigger on is almost perfect for me, except for one thing - it's missing LEDs. I've searched for retrofit topics, but there is not much info about it. I read about "umnitza" and their product, but I saw some terrible reviews. I like the aggressive front look with LEDs being there, but not sure how hard it would be to source LEDs and retrofit them. From what I read it should be almost plug and play with the LCI model, with some coding. If someone did this recently, please let me know. Not even sure how easy would be to source LEDs. |

Apparently, I'm blind, just found this thread here - https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1896451
Is it even possible to get new LEDs from a dealer nowadays? It's a dealer breaker for me, but hard to pass on such a clean car... |

You can retrofit the Adaptive LEDs but as with anything on these cars, it requires a lot of work and money. Feel free to read through this thread and decide if it's worth it for you:
https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1194727 IMO, you're better off finding a car that already has the adaptive LEDs rather than sourcing all the requisite parts. I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but that's just the unfortunate truth. Just FYI, one headlight alone brand new costs almost $4,000CAD at the dealership here in Canada. I know this because my vehicle required a new one after a minor collision in January and my bodyshop was able to source a brand new one from the dealership. Luckily insurance was able to take care of that. Not sure how the parts supply is these days but I assume whatever you order will need a lead time of two-three weeks especially if the parts are coming from Germany. As for the Umnitza ones, I wouldn't really install them unless you had absolutely no choice and even then I'd try to find used OEM ones. Aftermarket is still aftermarket and as usual they will likely start giving you issues as soon as the warranty runs out. |

4k sounds wild... I'll be keeping an eye on OEM ones, and if the right price, I'll go for it. Can't beat the look |

I was in the same boat when I was looking for a F10 as a DD. Found a local 2014 one owner, M Sport 550i, perfect service history and in excellent condition with 34k miles, didn't have LED's and that was the one option I really wanted. In the end I couldn't pass on such a clean low mileage 550 over headlights, the car was just too well taken care of just like how I care for my vehicles.
