idrive question

So I have a 2012 520d with widescreen professional media
I've just come from an f30 335d amd the displays are very different. The F10 is the older one.
Is there any way of updating this?

Only with a hardware swap. Your 2012 car has CCC and your F30 would have the later CIC or even higher depending on how old it was.

Right. The f30 was a 2014.what hardware would i need to make this happen?

CIC headunit, screen, combox, i-drive controller to start with. There is a guy on the sister forum to this (F30) who does this sort of work.
