Rear View Mirror fell off

Hi chaps

First time I've heard it experienced this

The rear view mirror fell off as I got in the car

The metal but which should've been bonded to the windscreen has come off as well which is still attached to the mirror arm

Anyone know anything about this please

Any ideas on cost how to fix and where

Thanks
Sp

It's new windscreen time I'm afraid

You could try to super glue the metal part back onto the windscreen but I wouldn't be terribly confident with that

This.

They sell a rear view mirror adhesive, but I’ve never seen one last with it.

Time for a new windshield.

I've had the same thing happen. Tried those aftermarket mirror glues, but never had any luck. I finally took it to a place that installs automotive glass. They put it back on for $10. Been several years and it has not come back off. Worth the $10 for sure...

Do you know what Loctite was used? It needs to be a flexible adhesive as the screen expands and contracts with changing temperatures and conditions so if not flexible the glue will cause the screen to crack.

I've forgotten the number but it was two bottles of it.

He applied one bottle first then the other.
