Comfort access retrofit to a F07
Hi all,
Sold my f10 some time back and been Beemer-less for a good year now planing to return to the flock with a potential F07 GT purchase that I'm tiring to work out witht he current owner. A been waiting looking for the right f07 with the right specs and this is it... Well almost it as u gathered from the subject car does not have the comfort access feature. I so wanted this and it kind of bothers me. Comes with adaptive drive, dynamic drive,EDC heads up soft close Etc... But no comfort access. So can this be retrofitted anyone done that? And if so how much was the damage? Cheers Laz |

I have been looking around for the same and no luck to retrofit from factory so far.
However there is an aftermarket one I found but it involves an extra Fob which I personally would hate. |

Hi there thx for the answer I'm with u on this the extra fob is a NO GO I rather not have it at all then installing this option.
When u say I looked around did u try to ask the dealer if they can do it/offer it like per example they retrofit backup cameras if u so desire. Laz |

There are a bunch of components to the comfort access bits...you've got transmitter/receiver antennae that can sense the presence of the fob, sensors on the door handles, an electronics box, and probably other bits...then, you'd have to reprogram the car to recognize the new box, and that may be messy since it is a 'system', not just an accessory. You'd have to add the harness to hook up all of the bits. Sure, with enough money, you could do it, but it would cost a lot more than the option to have it put in when built in the factory. The electronics are sort of insanely priced as repair parts, much more than their individual costs when figuring in the car price.

It'd probably be cheaper to buy another car...at least if you want the OEM stuff.
