Exhaust for 535D
I'm interested in getting an aftermarket exhaust or delete my exhaust. Does anyone have experience with delete exhaust for 535D (diesel)? Any video? Thanks in advance.

did you check YouTube? there's a bunch of 535D with aftermarket exhaust, with muffler deletes, DPF delete only, DPF delete AND muffler deletes, etc... There's also a few X5d (same N57 engine) exhaust clips with the same stuff as well

Thanks for the info, 95blkmax. I did checked youtube out, but was not able to find any video on 535D with muffler delete driving sound only found 1 cold start. There are plenty of video for 535i. Would 535i muffler delete sound be the same as 535D?

Where are you located? There are a few well known shops around the country and based on personal experience, would trust them before an inexperienced shop.
The power difference is intoxicating, but getting used to the smell is tough, so there's a clear tradeoff. Hope this helps. |

Hello,
I took the magna flow quad tip exhaust for the 535i and installed it on my 535d. It is pretty quite compared to my 335d and X5d. I am thinking about pulling the mufflers off and gutting them or just remove them completely and add quad tips back. |

That's what I meant with the trade off. Odor versus performance. |

I was only going to remove the muffler but still keep the cat and resonator. Would the odor still be bad?

The smell is far worse if you remove the cat. If you go this route, you should consider the EGR/SCR/DPF. From there, you must get a tune. There are a ton of posts and videos online about this, if you haven't already seen, check them out. |
