Rear Camera Not working
Ok I know this is a completely Dead horse with our cars However I have a quick question.
So my rear view Camera is not working at all. When I put the car in reverse its just a black screen and the Front and rear parking sensors work as advertised, However in the black screen the Camera is blacked out aka non selectable. I put my code reader on the car and I got the following error. 8020B4/Intermittent Central Locking, Drive, Rear Lid. Short Circuit to ground. Now My trouble shooting mind tells me this is probably and error with the rear lid locking switch Aka it may have gone bad. Tried removing and same thing happened with the camera. Could this switch be causing my Camera not to turn on. Basically the Camera thinking the trunk is open? Or am I crazy? Is there any Fuses that are associated with the camera? It is very weird because all of a sudden it just stopped working? Any Suggestions welcome as I really do not want to go to the dealer. Thanks Matt |

Could the camera or connection have failed? I would check the connection at the camera first. I know when I open the trunk while in reverse, the picture is the typical polar bear in a snowstorm, but the picture is still there.

Agreed when i turn on the rear camera manually and open the trunk, the picture is 100% clear on mine and on the entire way as the trunk opens fully. It stays on as I close too.

Maybe a can bus wire problem? Have you also checked your rear drive motor values? Not sure why that would cause issue to cameras but it can give indication. Good luck! Keep us posted! |
