Tallest Tires i can fit on stock 535xi m-sport

They have 245/40-19

Will car take 245/45-19's?

Or if not, what other size will give me more sidewall for comfort on my 19's?

Thanks

Short answer - yes. Many, including me, have done that or the equivalent with other wheel sizes. In my case, I had 245/50/18s vice stock 245/45/18s for winter wheels / tires, and there was no problem at all.

after doing some reading, and from your responses (thanks), i'm thinking to go either 255/40/19 or 245/45/19 non runflat. currently have 245/40/19 runflat. any recommendation between the two? for softer ride without it riding strange...

I run a 255/40/19 Setup in the Summer and 245/45/19 in the Winter. Car is lowered on H&R Springs with no rubbing or anything. The 245/45 has a taller sidewall which should equal a softer ride.

255/40-19 is a very small change from 245/40-19. I doubt the difference would be much. The load rating of the tires would likely make more of a difference than the size if different load ratings are available.

If you're interested in a more comfy ride and more pothole resilience, 245/45-19 is the way to go in my opinion.

I run 255 40 19 on all 4 corners and love the ride. You can tell the sidewall is a bit more than the 245 40 19. I also like how the 255 protects the wheels more

I chickened out and bought stock size. Thanks though for your responses, pictures etc.

I got Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 non-RFT. They are replacing Goodyear LS2 RFT (for sale now here)

I've had larger tires on my past 335, and they worked fine. When i did, i always had a feeling of the car not optimally handling because i went beyond standard, but it could have been placebo effect.

From research i did, the larger (heavier) tires would/could affect gearing, gas mileage, wear on suspension, transmission, and in a bad pothole or other strange circumstance, could hit places they aren't supposed to. The arguments that the car engineers lined up everything to work optimally.

I believe the difference is small, and many people on the board prove it is no problem to go bigger, but just thought i'd share what i did.

As i already have heavy 351 wheel's...and figured the higher sidewall with non-standard size wouldn't give transformative difference in comfort, so i just decided after all the consideration to stick with stock. Hoping for a nice difference going RFT to non-RFT.

My new tires are on order and will take a week or two to get. If anyone is interested, i can report back in a couple weeks how i like them.

Yes please! The PAS4 is a tire I'm considering in the future since watching Tyre Reviews compare it with the PS4S, Cross Climate 2 and X-Ice Snow. Seems the PAS4 holds its own in the dry quite well vs the PS4S considering its wet and snow abilities.

I'm working on installing a set of HRE's on my 535. I'm going to run 20x8.5 in front and 20x10.5 in the rear with 255/40 in front and 295/30 in the rear. I'm running the Toyo Proxes.

You mean 255/35 front, right?

A good effect 27” front and back. My fronts from Bally just shipped.
