Lowering the F10

I'd like to lower my 550i with XDrive. Im looking to eliminate the gap and I'm torn between the dinan springs and H&R. I want the best ride quality possible and I do plan on 20" wheels in the future. Which springs are better?

I am considering this Dinan spring set, as well as the H&R springs. Has anyone done this before and if so do you have any pics of the drop as well as feedback on the ride quality?

Garage List
Have you ruled out ACS springs? They seem to be quite respected on this forum, and so far my experience with them on my 535xi is very positive.

Cheers.

Sure. Here's the link to the AC Schnitzer web site for their springs. I ordered mine through a local independent garage, but they can be acquired through AC Schnitzer in the US too. The drop is about 1.5" for the front, and 1.2" for the rear.

Just in case you didn't see them on my car in another thread, here you go.

Check out CKS (coilovers) I have it on my xdrive. Fully adjustable 24 dampening settings; absolutely love it. You can ride as soft or as stiff as you want. I'm currently running on 20" Vorsteiners.

Wow, the drop is perfect on your car... looks great! Didn't think it lowered that much with ACS (always thought it was max 1 inch) I was looking to H&R Sport, but the drop seems a bit too aggressive for me. Might have to reconsider.

keep in mind too that there have been quite a few forum members here reporting back to us that after getting the springs installed whether it's ACS, H&R their shocks would blow/leak. some members have gone through years with no issues. something to think about

Appreciate that man. I've actually seems some of your comments on other threads about this same issue. Your car is sitting sweet on them coils! I would go for coils but considering I only get to drive my car typically on weekends, not sure if the full cost justifies it. I'm "assuming" I'll be safe on springs based in my driving behavior. But fully agree about coils, cars sit way better and safely.

there's a thread here somewhere where guys have been pairing ACS/H&R's with Bilstein's. might look into that as as option as well
