19" 351M Rims - Is Insurance Screwing Me?
I had some curb rash on driver side rims, from a recent accident. (not great, but insurance is covering things). My 535D came with black 19" 351M rims. The shop fixing it ordered replacement rims (one for front and one for the rear since they're offset) and they are now sending them to get powder coated in black.
Does that seem right? I'm not sure what BMW's process is for painting rims, will the left rims look different than the right rims over time? Should I push to get this directly from BMW? Thoughts? |

Yeah I would fight it this seems like BS. I've had it before where the wrong color paint was painted on a panel and only after disputing did they go and fix it. Better fix it earlier in the process to reduce your trouble.

They aren’t available from bmw in Black as far as I know. Usually this is a dealer sending them out before selling car.

At the end of the day they sent them to a pretty good powder coating shop, they look great. It's a cpo and came with them in black. And yeah, after some research, black isn't a factory option, so it must have been done as a dealer option for the original owner or the original owner had it done somewhere. Pretty happy how turned out.
